Swimming Cities comes to Beacon

Last Night, Swoon's amazing project, The Swimming Cities of Switchback Sea came to Beacon.
The boats floated in one by one around dusk on Saturday night and an excited and curious crowd came down to welcome them, take pictures and feed the tired travelers. Todd from Spire Studios was gracious enough to host the crew while they were in Beacon and after a good nights sleep they set up and put on an amazing performance under perfect skies. Below are some pictures from the event.

Hooray for Electric Windows!!!

So we just found out that the Electric Windows project just won the 2008 Dutchess County Executive's Arts Award for "Art in Public Places" We worked so hard with our friends Jeff and Nicole at Beacon Art Supply and Burlock to put the project together that it feels really good to be recognized by the county for our contribution. The project never would of happened without all the amazing artists who donated their time and talent to create the art that makes the building look award worthy, and all the friends and volunteers that helped make the project a huge success!

THANK YOU!!!

Puzzles and woodcuts everywhere.....

Thanks Elliot!

We wanted to dedicate this post to our newest intern, Elliot Cash. He has been helping us out for the past 2 shows and has bee doing an amazing job, from handing out flyers and helping us get ready for shows to updating our website and helping us toss up some art work (with the blessing of the artist of course...) Elliot has been a big help. He also has the best collection of face t-shirts I have ever seen...
